@Old Delhi Railway station(Chandni Chowk)
This was a very hepatic journey to Kapurthala. The place is in Panjab, 25 km from Jalandhar. I booked a ticket for date 17 Nov in Jallianwala Bagh Exp from Delhi to Jalandhar city. Since my SSB was on 18 Nov. On 17 Nov I went to bed at 2:30AM after packing according to my checklist. I woke up at 7 AM and left for railway station @ 9 AM. I reached there at 10:20AM. I had to buy a white lower and socks from the Chandni Chowk market. There was a lot of clothing market outside the railway station but nobody had white lower and white socks. The moment was very tensed because what if I didn’t get these because the train was late for 4 hours rescheduled arrival time was 12 AM(No shop) and the next morning @6 AM I had SSB. This was my mistake I should have taken before it before. I asked one by one in each shop about lower. At last, I asked about the mall to an autorickshaw driver. He was confused he didn’t know what was a mall. Then again I asked him about adding prefix "shopping". I asked where the shopping mall was. Again he did not understand. I was astounded what type of man he was. He was living in Delhi and did not know what the shopping mall was. I asked a man sitting at a bus stop. He told to go Chandani Chowk market where I could get anything. I walked towards the market.it was 1 km from Chandani Chowk railway station. There I bought 2 lowers and 2 pairs of white socks and 1 pair of black socks. It was almost 1 PM. I did breakfast there in the market @ 11:30 PM. I came back to the railway platform and took a nap. @ 4 PM train arrived at platform no 09.
@Jalandhar Cantt Railway station
I reached Jalandhar Cantt @ 11 PM. I left the train there. Because I thought there must be an MCO .and it was there. I went there and asked the army personnel who was sitting at the reception about accommodation and also about any hotel nearby. He had no idea about any of my question. I went outside and saw there was no hotel accept an Indian oil petrol pump which was 300 m away from the railway station. But there was some tea shop and a hotel which were open at that time. It was almost 11:30 PM and too much cold outside.
Since I had to leave for Kapurthala after 4:30 AM so I decided to stay at the railway Platform. I went to the waiting room. there were already almost 50 passengers. The room was quite warm. I put my luggage inside a chair and sat in that. I kept sitting there for 1 hour. After 12:30 AM I went outside and had tea. I came back and put my phone on charge. Since there was no means to pass the time. I had dinner (1 burger, 2 sandwiches) during the journey at Ambala railway station. After 01 AM it was very difficult to seat. My body wanted to take rest. I put bedsheet on the floor and lay down there. Others were also sleeping there. I could not sleep because my luggage might be stolen. @ 3.30 PM I kept my bedsheet back in my luggage, took out my formal dress, went for the bathroom. Up to 4 AM, I was ready to leave for Kapurthala. I went to the inquiry centre and asked about the train. They said there was no train from here I had to go city junction. There I could get locals for Kapurthala. I went outside and asked autorickshaw driver about the way to go Kapurthala. He told that he would go there directly if I paid him 300 rupees. I denied and told him to go bus stand. I did not want to waste my money. I took Autorickshaw @4:15AM (20 rupees) and went towards Bus stand and reached there @4:30PM. I was very hungry so at the bus stand, I ate fried rice. @ 5 o’clock I took a bus for Kapurthala and up to 5:30PM I reached there.
I didn't sleep for that whole night and in the previous night also, I slept only for 3 to 4 hours. Which made me exhausted.
